Cathy Fenwick was born 1956 in Lewisham, South London, and studied Sculpture at the Royal Academy Schools (1980-1983) under the tutelage of sculptor and draughtsman, Bryan Kneale. She won a Henry Moore Fellowship in 1982 and the Landseer Prize in 1983. She showed with the Treadwell Gallery from 1983 – 1991, and was included in the gallery`s “La Groupe Show” of women artists in 1983, as well as the gallery`s international exhibition of women`s art, “Sex – Female, Occupation – Artist” at Denne Hill in 1984. The book produced to coincide with this exhibition is still available from the gallery (€10.00 plus p and p). She gave up making sculpture in 1985 to concentrate on her extraordinary drawings and paintings. Since she left the Treadwell Gallery, she has shown with London`s East-West Gallery.
